Wishing our future could be cleaner + greener? Just flush the toilet to help make it happen.

The City will soon begin converting biosolids into renewable natural gas thanks to the Bio-energy Recovery Project. What that means:

  • Biosolids (yes, the stuff that comes from what you flush) will be turned into energy.
  • Overall biosolids will be reduced by ~50%.
  • The project will be the first municipal wastewater digester producing renewable natural gas in NC.

The milestone also brings Raleigh closer to City of Raleigh’s sustainability goals.
