Hi Raleigh, City Editor Danyale here. Thank you to everyone who voted to start this RALtoday book club. We’re so excited to embark on this new experience with all of you.

City Editor Allie and I thought it’d be great to start with a book that has ties to Oak City and NC. Here are three novels to consider + vote on the one that piques your interest most.

“Where the Crawdads Sing” by Delia Owens | Mystery | Set in a quiet town on the NC coast, this is a coming-of-age story + surprising murder mystery.

“The Kingmaker” by Kennedy Ryan | Romance | Two unlikely people who, despite their familial backgrounds, fight through unthinkable circumstances to be together.

“The Last to Vanish” by Megan Miranda | Thriller | This is a novel set in a mountain resort in Cutter’s Pass, NC, plagued by mysterious disappearances.
