The City of Raleigh is set to launch Business Bloom, a new program aimed at empowering refugee and immigrant entrepreneurs. Partnering with Five One Labs and funded by the Truist Foundation, the initiative will offer six weeks of training, mentoring, and support to help these businesses thrive.
With 13.5% of Wake County’s population being foreign-born and a significant portion of local businesses led by immigrants, this program addresses a community need.
According to Alice Bosley of Five One Labs, the initiative was created to spark innovation and create jobs. Truist Foundation’s Chris Bell also emphasized the program’s potential to drive economic growth and additional development in the community.
Applications are free and open until Sunday, Sept. 8.
