Looking for Thanksgiving weekend plans? How about ice skating in a winter wonderland in the heart of downtown Raleigh?

Enter: THE RINK - Presented by UNC Health (Red Hat Amphitheater, 500 South McDowell St.), featuring a natural ice skating rink with stunning views of the Raleigh skyline. THE RINK presented by UNC Health officially opened for the season on Nov. 20 and can be enjoyed through Jan. 1. Here’s everything you need to know before you lace up your skates:

Hours 🕑

Through Dec. 19:

  • Thurs. 5-9 p.m.
  • Fri. 5-10 p.m.
  • Sat. 12-10 p.m.
  • Sun. 12-7 p.m.
  • Closed Sat., Dec. 4

Holiday hours (Dec. 20-Jan. 1):

  • Mon.-Wed. 3-9 p.m.
  • Thurs. 12-9 p.m.
  • Fri.-Sat.: 12-10 p.m.
  • Sun. 12-7 p.m.
  • Christmas Eve: 12-7pm
  • New Year’s Eve + New Year’s Day: 12-10 p.m.
  • Closed Thanksgiving + Christmas

Admission 🎟️

Skater admission is $11, including skate rental. Don’t feel like skating? You can still enjoy the festive atmosphere for $6 — taxes + fees may apply.

THE RINK presented by UNC Health at Red Hat Amphitheater is open now through Jan. 1, featuring a natural ice skating rink with stunning views of the Raleigh skyline.

Skaters (and non-skaters) can purchase tickets online or at the door up to 30 minutes prior to opening.
