After a snow-blanketed weekend and plenty of icy weather in Raleigh, we’re looking ahead to warmer days. Specifically, we are getting amped for outdoor concerts this spring. It doesn’t matter what your Spotify Wrapped looked like — the Triangle has plenty of musical visitors for everyone. 🎵
Dubbing itself “the world’s most resilient festival,” Fayetteville, NC native J. Cole’s Dreamville Festival is finally back this April after being cancelled three times in the last four years due to Hurricane Florence and the coronavirus pandemic. Although the lineup for this year’s two-day festival at Dorothea Dix Park has not yet been announced, most tickets have sold out in anticipation. Some general admission tickets are still available, so grab them while you can. This festival is definitely going to happen — we think.

Sylvan Esso, an electronic pop duo from Durham, just announced a third night at the Historic Durham Athletic Park with Moses Sumney + Vegabon on Thurs., May 19. This show kicks off a three-day concert series at the ballpark. Tickets ($50) are still available for Thursday and Saturday’s concerts.
Red Hat Amphitheater , one of our favorite venues in the heart of downtown Raleigh, is slowly but surely announcing upcoming shows. Rapper Lil Durk is slated for April 21 + indie-pop trio AJR is scheduled for May 7.
Kiss, the Foo Fighters, and Tim McGraw + Russell Dickerson will play at the Coastal Credit Union Music Park at Walnut Creek in May. We’re also keeping our eye on the Joseph M. Bryan, Jr., Theater at the North Carolina Museum of Art for show announcements.
