Illuminate Art Walk , an outdoor exhibit featuring 10+ locally and nationally-recognized light-based art installations, is returning to downtown. Parts of the Fayetteville Street and Glenwood South districts will be lit up from Friday, Dec. 2 to Saturday, Jan. 14, 2023.
Be on the lookout for Sonic Runway , an installation that converts audio signals into patterns of light, created by artists Rob Jensen and Warren Trezevant. Read: Visitors will be able to see lights synchronized to the speed of sound, rippling down a row of LED-lined arches. You can find the 300+ ft corridor on South Salisbury Street, across from the Raleigh Convention Center.
The spectacle has made appearances around the world at festivals including Burning Man in Nevada and destinations like Liverpool and Toronto. We can’t wait to see it illuminate Raleigh.
