We’re on record saying that Raleigh is our favorite city, but these world records and other superlatives prove that Raleigh might be the best, as far as beer taps, racquet sports, and more are concerned. Here are five of Raleigh’s world records + feats that prove it.

Most different varieties of beer on tap, Raleigh Beer Garden | When this huge beer garden set its record, it had 369 taps flowing local + national brews alike. The beer garden also holds the record for the largest tap takeover. In October 2019, 177 taps at the beer garden were pouring Wicked Weed Brewing bevs, including over 100 sours.

World’s largest racquet sports complex, Swing Racquet and Paddle | This state-of-the-art facility recently broke ground and is already breaking records. When the complex opens in 2026, expect 44 acres of fun and 70 courts for five different racquet and paddle sports, all near Brier Creek.

Most guitar rotations around the body in 30 seconds, Adam Hudson | This record was set right here in Oak City in 2018 with Adam Hudson completing 35 rotations in 30 seconds.

Honorable mentions

Benelux Coffee’s coffee bean mural | This mural has been recognized by Guinness and is one of the largest in the world at 45 feet long and nearly 8 feet tall. Munch on Belgian waffles and fresh-brewed joe on this monumental mural.

NC Museum of Natural Science’s Daily Planet globe | The world revolves around Raleigh... sort of. This globe is one of the biggest in the world at 72 feet tall, and although it doesn’t rotate nor revolve, it’s still an impressive sight. Inside is a three-level theater with a 40-foot screen.
