GoTriangle will break ground on the Raleigh Union Station Bus Facility on Tuesday, Oct. 24. The project, known as RUS Bus, will be a transit hub for buses, trains, cyclists, and pedestrians in the Warehouse District. The station is slated to open in mid-2025 at the intersection of West and Martin streets.
When complete, this transit project will include eight total bus bays, infrastructure intended for pedestrians and cyclists, and connections to regional and express bus services. Accommodations are also underway for a future Bus Rapid Transit stop on West Street.
GoTriangle has partnered with developer Hoffman & Associates to create a state-of-the-art development of RUS Bus and Union West, a mixed-use development that will weave together transit, residential, and retail spaces.
The project’s two towers will be home to approx. 385 apartments, including 10% affordable units for households at 80% of the area’s median income.
The project is located at the former Dillon Supply property and will incorporate modern design elements and the existing West Street warehouse facades into its look.
Construction has been underway since April 2022, and the first apartments will be ready for residents in fall 2025. Union West is slated for full completion in fall 2026.
