Construction is set to ramp up in 2026 for Raleigh, and we’ve got the latest scoop. Here’s what you need to know about some of the hottest mixed-use developments in the 919.

The Exchange, Midtown | Projected completion: 2027 | This 40-acre project near North Hills has had a huge year with Peregrine being named as the Best New North Carolina Restaurant and Capulet Cocktail Club‘s opening this week. In the end, The Exchange will have nearly 1 million sqft of office space, 300 hotel rooms, and up to 1,275 residential units.

Depot Historic District, Warehouse District | Projected completion: 2028 | Featuring a 170-key boutique hotel and over 30,000 sqft of street-level retail, this project is set to transform downtown’s The Depot, home to Videri Chocolate Company but will preserve the historic 1912 building. Expect outdoor spaces, public plazas, and pedestrian-friendly connections to the Raleigh Convention Center and Red Hat Amphitheater.

Is there an upcoming development you would like us to break down in the new year? Let us know.

Help shape our new business newsletter

We’re gearing up to debut The Brief, a new weekly business newsletter designed to keep you in the know without weighing you down. Think: the most relevant local business intel — news, podcasts, events, commercial listings, jobs, promotions, announcements, and more — all in one tidy, scroll-worthy place.

But before we hit “go,” we want to make sure we’re building something you actually want to read. Please take roughly 2 minutes (give or take a coffee sip) to answer a few quick questions and help us shape The Brief.

And because our products will always be free (we think paywalls are bad for biz), we’re opening up just FIVE industry-exclusive launch partnerships. If you want the inside track, email rjohnston@6amcity.com for details.
