Post of the Day

RAL_BenchwarmersRockwayPOD_NOV2025
Your favorite bagel shop’s new location is now open. Benchwarmers Bagels’ second shop at Rockway is here, and we can’t wait to spend our Sunday mornings there.

In 2023, Benchwarmers was named among the best bagels in the US — outside of NYC — by Bon Appétit for its unique sandwiches and sporty aesthetic, and locals like us still can’t get enough

Rockway is a new development near Dix Park and is home to The Row Apartments, BK Pilates, and now Benchwarmers. Also coming soon is Campo Taco Co., a vibrant + casual Mexican spot set to open later this year.

Community

Through a partnership with the City of Raleigh, Raleigh City Farm is cultivating its second location at Marsh Creek Park. Raleigh City Farm has been growing healthy produce downtown since 2011, and this new urban farm will help expand the nonprofits impact + address local food insecurity.

Coming Soon

Charleston + Greenville, South Carolina barbecue spot Lewis Barbecue will join Salvage Yard at Raleigh Iron Works for its very first NC location. Just recently named a Michelin Bib Gourmand, this spot serves Texas-style brisket, Southern sides, and more slow-cooked meats courtesy of the Lone Star State. (Raleigh Magazine)

Try This

Do you ever just want to scream, and shout, and let it all out? At the Person Street Block Party this Saturday, you can. Edge of Urge is hosting a “Collective Scream” at 1:30 p.m., just part of the ongoing scream club trend sweeping shrieking the nation.

Weather

Brace your plants — the first hard freeze of the season is coming. After a warm front to end the week, Monday, Nov. 10 is expected to see the first freezing temperatures of this winter with overnight temps reaching the high 20s. We’re already preparing for January gardening. (The News & Observer)

Sports

The Carolina Mudcats might have left Five County Stadium in Zebulon for Wilson, but minor league baseball is coming back. Capitol Broadcasting Company will use up to $10 million to upgrade the stadium for an unnamed Coastal Plain League team starting in 2026. (WRAL)

Development

Money previously earmarked for widening Six Forks will now be used to create a car + pedestrian bridge over 440 in Midtown. In an effort to increase walkability, the proposed bridge would connect Wake Towne Drive + Quail Hollow Drive. Next up: Finding an engineering firm. (Triangle Business Journal)

Number

17,000. That’s how many Triangle kids play for NCFC Youth, which will continue even while North Carolina FC’s pauses as the club aims for USL Division One. NCFC Youth has been in the 919 for 51 years, and there are no plans to change the name.

Which 919 restaurants did the Michelin inspectors miss?

Second Empire, Hawthorne & Wood, Ajja, and Peregrine. These are just a few spots you think the Michelin inspectors should take another taste before they publish their next round of Michelin Guide recommendations.

The Wrap

From Allie

Left Hook is popping up all over before their new shop is open, including at Figulina’s Sunday brunch services. I think a baby boy latte and the yogurt panna cotta will pair perfectly together.
