Want a greener future? Flush the toilet.

Wishing our future could be cleaner + greener? Just flush the toilet to help make it happen.

The City will soon begin converting biosolids into renewable natural gas thanks to the Bio-energy Recovery Project. What that means:
  • Biosolids (yes, the stuff that comes from what you flush) will be turned into energy.
  • Overall biosolids will be reduced by ~50%.
  • The project will be the first municipal wastewater digester producing renewable natural gas in NC.
The milestone also brings Raleigh closer to City of Raleigh’s sustainability goals.

News Notes

Open
  • RH’s new North Hills location is now open in the Main District, adjacent to Village Tavern. The three-story luxury home furnishing retailer includes various showrooms + a full service restaurant on the rooftop, and — believe us it’s a beauty.
Transportation
  • GoRaleigh will offer free rides on Election Day, Tuesday, Nov. 5. Find your precinct and plan your trip in advance by visiting Wake County’s site. See you at the polls.
Drink
  • Sips up. The Bomb Bar, a smoothie + coffee spot, is opening its first NC location in Gateway Plaza on Saturday, Nov. 16. The health-focused eatery will also feature local drinks + ingredients from local businesses like Jubala Coffee and Boulted Bread. (Raleigh Magazine)
Travel
  • If you’re currently sitting at RDU because your flight was canceled — we actually have good news. A new rule in the US just went into effect, and it requires airlines to automatically give you a full refund for canceled + significantly delayed flights. No refund request required.
Coming Soon
  • The Triangle is embracing the trend of bathhouses offering sauna + cold plunge experiences, driven by post-pandemic wellness interest. Sauna House, an Asheville-based company, is set to open a new 7,000 sqft location next month in Durham, featuring multiple saunas and cold plunge pools with more locations planned across NC. (Axios Raleigh)
Shop
  • Brat Summer, Demure Fall, and now Mob Wives Winter? Grab your animal prints and oversized sunglasses for Sip + Shop Raleigh’s free Mob Wives Market and Garden Party. Score luxury fashion, vintage clothing from Sai Sei Upcycle, gifts + more on Saturday, Nov. 2, from 11 to 3 p.m. at 712 S. East St.*
Open
Finance
  • Inflation may be cooling, but car insurance premiums aren’t. Why? All insurance is now priced in real-time — so repair times, parts shortages, and credit scores all play a part in the final price. Take Money’s questionnaire on your best car insurance experience to see if you can save.*
Job
  • We’re looking for a rising star media seller to be our Sales Executive in charge of National Brand Partnerships with a primary focus on sports newsletters. Apply to join the 6AM City team.

Today’s edition by: Danyale

I had the pleasure of viewing the new RH location before it opened today, and it is stunning. What wowed me most were the intricate light fixtures specifically curated for each room. You have to see if for yourself.
