Amelia’s Flowers, a vintage flower shop and mobile truck service, announced that it is expanding to Raleigh. Though the location has not yet been announced, the shop, which will carry arrangements, greeting cards and gifts, is hiring shop associates and flower truck drivers.

Due to heavy rain coming from Hurricane Idalia, the Jazz in the Square event, which was scheduled for tomorrow, Aug. 31, is postponed to Thursday, Sept. 21. DreamRoot will perform on the new date at Moore Square while guests enjoy food trucks and beer and wine options.

The City of Raleigh is rolling out a new pilot program called Ral-E-Bike to encourage Raleighites to purchase electric bicycles. Beginning Spring 2024, Raleigh residents will be eligible to apply for a $500 voucher toward the purchase of an e-bike at participating local bike shops.

Calling all buskers. The NCMA is looking for talented street performers to celebrate its second annual Buskers Day on Saturday, Sept. 23 in the Museum Park. Space is available on a first come, first served basis from 1 to 4 p.m., and no registration or permit fee is required.

Devil-Dogs Dungarees, a Wake County blue jean manufacturing facility, put its Zebulon facility up for sale at $11.1 million. The 148,004 sqft space dates back to 1952 and consists of four brick buildings and seven dock-high doors. The brand plans to move to a smaller space in the Triangle. (The News & Observer)

On Monday, Aug. 28, Gov. Roy Cooper declared a State of Emergency for NC ahead of Hurricane Idalia and Hurricane Franklin’s impacts.
Hazardous conditions and four to six inches of heavy rain are expected to hit NC Wednesday evening or early Thursday morning with the risk of flooding.
“It is important for North Carolinians to gather emergency kits and prepare for the storm before it’s too late,” Cooper said in a press release.
