Dear Raleigh,

Trevor here. 👋 This Valentine’s Day is a special one for me, because it’s my first with you. I love being in this city and growing with you all… From hearing your interests and what you think could be better in our city to what you enjoy doing when you’ve got some free time, each day is a new learning experience for me.

My love language is words of affirmation, which you all fulfill for me on a daily basis. The sweet responses we get back from readers reminds me why I love doing what I do and how much better I want to make the newsletter for you as we continue to grow RALtoday in the Triangle. From Tony saying, “My daughter and I love doing things together in Raleigh and she loves the newsletter too. Really awesome you guys are doing this” to Karla responding, “I hope you both (Erin & Trevor) are well. I enjoy your newsletters very much since it keeps me informed about what’s happening locally. I hope this helps and that you continue to do great things. I have told my friends, co-workers, and nurse staff about your newsletters and all agree it’s informative and a fun read” — I cannot thank you enough for the kind words you share with us. It means the world to me.

My enneagram is type 4, which means I tend to make things emotional or find great significance in the little things. Being in Raleigh, I’ve grown to appreciate how welcoming everyone is to the people who are coming from outside the city to make this their new home. It’s rare for me to walk to work in downtown Raleigh and not receive a smile from a passing stranger or even a polite gesture from someone simply driving by. I was scared to move to a big city because of all the stereotypes that come with it, but you all have shown me that Raleigh breaks that mold and is so much more than a place to work.

Alright, enough sappy talk. Let’s all enjoy some candy, chocolate, and cupid love with our partners and friends this Valentine’s Day. Thank you for being my Valentine, Raleigh. You’re one that I’ll never forget. 💌

Love,

Trevor P.
