Another project is coming to Raleigh’s Iron Works district, joining Raleigh Iron Works and Dock 1053 .
Last week, Grubb Ventures announced Salvage Yard — a ~10-acre mixed-use development comprised of three renovated warehouses across the street from Raleigh Iron Works. Work on the project between Atlantic Avenue and Laurelbrook Street is expected to begin by the end of the year.
Triangle Rock Club, the first revealed tenant, is planning to open a climbing gym in the former location of Big Boss Brewing in 2024. This will be TRC’s second Raleigh location and fifth gym in the Triangle area.
The new TRC-Salvage Yard located at 1249 Wicker Dr. will occupy ~40,000 sqft, making it 18% larger than its Durham location . The world-class facility will utilize the existing 27-ft building + build an 8,000-sqft addition with a 50-ft ceiling.
The new Triangle Rock Club location will have more than 100 climbing lanes.

There will be 100+ climbing lanes, a large bouldering area, two yoga studios, and additional fitness space. The space is designed to be social, with ample outdoor seating, views of an outdoor beer garden + places to eat and drink within walking distance of the complex.
Big Boss Brewing
— Raleigh’s oldest brewery — moved out of its Wicker Drive taproom and production space in late August. Its new taproom is expected to open in 2023
