At the end of 2023, Chef Ashley Christensen announced the closing of Poole’side Pies with plans to open another AC restaurant in its place — we even asked you what you would like to see in its spot — but now, we have our answer. Last week, the Raleigh chef announced on Instagram that Poole’s Diner will expand into the neighboring space at 428 S. McDowell St.
This good news comes shortly after we reassured our readers that Poole’s will carry on the sought after Poole’side Pies pickle caesar salad. The retro-chic diner will be able to accommodate more guests, utilize the wood-fired oven, and welcome back weekend brunch.
