The Raleigh Police Department Foundation is on a mission to make Raleigh the safest city in America.

Local business and community leaders founded the nonprofit in 2022 to help support and enhance the Raleigh Police Department through additional funding.

These funds aim to improve public safety and foster community engagement by providing advanced training and outreach programs.

As the RPDF celebrates its second anniversary, the foundation recently announced it raised $4+ million toward these local initiatives, which include:

  • Donations to support officers and their families following an injury in the line of duty
  • Specialty skills training, like the Public Safety Cadet program
  • Youth outreach programs like summer tennis, soccer, baseball, and basketball camps
  • Five electric motorcycles for Greenway transit
  • Luna, a new horse for the mounted patrol unit

Bonus: If you’re a current or retired law enforcement officer, consider joining Team Raleigh, a local cycling group dedicated to community improvement.
