A new biz touted as Raleigh’s next third space is coming to Fayetteville Street in a historic building, and it’ll serve up coffee, pre-owned media, and a place to linger when The Newsagent’s opens in summer 2025.

Inspired by classic newsstands with a modern shopping experience, The Newsagent’s will sell second-hand and vintage media, including comics, collectibles, and books, which you’ll be able to enjoy with an in-house coffee bar. Plus, expect events like readings, lectures, screenings, and local meetups. We might have found a new local third place to hang out at.

The Newsagent’s is owned by married couple + first time business owners, Neetzan Zimmerman and Yulia Shamis. Did you know? The store will be in the Mahler Building, 228 Fayetteville St., which was recognized by the National Register of Historic Places in 2000, meaning the Renaissance Revival-style building isn’t going anywhere anytime soon.
