Boxyard RTP, an 18,000+ sqft development constructed from re-purposed shipping containers, is coming to the Frontier RTP campus at 900 Park Offices Dr. The mixed-use development broke ground in August 2019, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, construction + plans were temporarily postponed. However, with things ramping back up, we got a behind-the-scenes tour and to check out Boxyard RTP’s progress firsthand.

Boxyard RTP is being developed by the Research Triangle Foundation of NC — the not-for-profit organization that manages RTP — as a space for collaboration and community within the park. Boxyard RTP is not only a unique dining and shopping experience, but it will also be a space for live, local music + monthly events

Currently, Boxyard RTP has over 15 vendors — including Lawrence Barbecue, Lagoon Bar, Trellis Beauty, Carrburritos, and Fullsteam Brewery. Click here for a full list of businesses. The development will also be dog-friendly and have an on-site dog park entitled The Barkyard (opening later this year).

Wondering how to get there? Boxyard RTP is partnering with RTP Connect to subsidize up to $10 per Uber and Lyft trip to the location. There is also a bus stop nearby + parking is free.

While there is no set open date, Miranda Welgos, the event coordinator at Boxyard RTP, hopes to see the development accessible to the public this summer. You can stay up to date with all things Boxyard RTP on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter + TikTok.
