According to the year-over-year number of seats available to book on flights, Raleigh-Durham International Airport is growing more rapidly than any other airport in the country.

There were reportedly 190,000 more seats available on flights in July 2023 than there were in July 2022 at RDU — a 22.5% increase.

This year, June saw the heaviest traffic at the airport with 1,347,508 passengers leaving the runway.

The airport is growing in many ways. From new airlines and nonstop destinations, to airport enhancements like eatery Crawford’s Genuine coming soon, RDU is on track for a record-breaking year, according to Michael Landguth, president and CEO of the Raleigh-Durham Airport Authority.

If you’re planning on flying through RDU anytime soon, we’ve created a guide that covers everything from gates to parking so you can fly with ease.
