Find a little bit of pixie dust at the South Carolina State Museum. Its blockbuster exhibition, Heroes & Villains: The Art of the Disney Costume, created by the Walt Disney Archives, will now run through January 4, 2026.

This critically-acclaimed feature brings Disney’s most iconic characters to life through the artistry of costume design. Guests can explore:

  • 70 original costumes from beloved films like Cinderella, Maleficent, and Pirates of the Caribbean
  • The creative process behind the magic, with sketches, designer quotes, and detailed notes
  • Designs crafted by some of Hollywood’s most respected artists, including Academy Award® winners Sandy Powell and Disney Legend Colleen Atwood

Since its opening in May, the exhibition has drawn visitors from across the region eager to step behind the seams of Disney magic.

Bonus: For an added touch of glamour, the museum’s One Enchanted Evening Gala is happening this October.
