The City of Oaks has plenty of unique programs to make your kiddo’s summer memorable.

Take a Counselor in Training course through the City of Raleigh.

Camps fill up quickly in the City of Oaks, but it’s not too late to make fun summertime plans for your kiddo. Sign your child up for one of these nine unique and memorable camps, before school’s out for summer.

  • Climb through summer | $195+ | Enjoy an adventurous half- or full-day session with Triangle Rock Club to experience climbing, goal setting, games, and learning.
  • Code like a pro | $200+ | Learn how to code your own robot in Minecraft or experiment with stop-motion animation at this Code Ninjas camp.
  • Creative courses | $150-$175 | Art Space is offering week-long classes like painting, weaving, and photography for kids grades one through 12.
  • History activities | Free | If you didn’t secure a camp spot, the NC Museum of History curated an activity list that can be completed from anywhere with mostly household items.
  • Move your body | $110+ | Find a day camp that best suits your little explorer through the YMCA — subsidized programs are available.
  • Playful adventures | $155 per week | Fun Zone Raleigh is hosting summer days filled with play, challenges, games, and counselor-led activities.
  • Rock ‘n’ roll | $300+ | Turn into a rock star and build confidence at this School of Rock music camp perfect for any skill level.
  • Something for everyone | $101+ | From football to cooking classes, the City of Raleigh offers a wide variety of summer activities. Pro tip: On the left hand side of the screen, toggle over the “Only Show Available Programs” and select “Yes” to show open summer camps.
  • Wildlife encounters | $150+ | Become one with nature with the Piedmont Wildlife Center through woodland games, folklore, and wilderness learning.

Bonus: Teens ages 14-16 have until Sunday, April 7 to apply to the Counselor in Training course through the City of Raleigh. This program prepares teens to become counselors at one of Raleigh Parks’ youth summer camps.
