Neighborhood work club Switchyards is coming to Raleigh, joining clubs in Durham and Charlotte. The 24/7 workspace features flexible space to get things done, unlimited coffee, and access to all other clubs in 15 cities across the nation.
“We want this to be an escape from your home, an escape from the office, an escape from the coffee shop in a super reliable, always-open, 10 out of 10 experience every time you come in,” Switchyards CEO Michael Tavani told RALtoday.
Memberships drop at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 14, and memberships are $129 per month — or $100 if you purchase an annual plan. Only 250 memberships will be available, and all clubs have sold out on drop day since 2025. Ready to learn more?Head to the website.
Golf simulator biz The Swing Bays will open at Seaboard Station in early 2027. Expect high-quality golf simulators, league nights, and memberships starting at $35. Local franchisees Phil and Nancy Gugliotta will also open a Swing Bays in Wake Forest this summer. (Triangle Business Journal)

Flo Winston, the last surviving founder of the Angus Barn, died last week at age 90. Thad and Alice Eure started the Angus Barn in 1960 with Flo and her husband, Charles Sr. (Triangle Business Journal)

Duke Gardens’s $30 million Garden Gateway expansion + renovation project will finally be open for the public tomorrow, April 8 to keep up with growing demands. The expansion includes the $7 million Barnes Welcome Center and will serve as the garden’s “new front door.” (The News & Observer)

Prime Barbecue’s chef Christopher Prieto will throw Knightdale’s inagural Pickin’ in the Park — a barbecue festival benefiting Raleigh Rescue Mission’s The Garden, a holistic living community for mothers, children, and single women. In addition to Prime, expect Sam Jones, Old Colony Smokehouse, and Dampf Good BBQ to make tasty appearances.
