Día de los Muertos is traditionally celebrated Nov. 1 and 2, but Raleigh’s got two weekend’s worth of fun events to honor + celebrate love ones we’ve lost.
Day of the Dead 5K | Saturday, Oct. 25 | 9 a.m. | Starts at Centro | Price varies | Raise money for the Boys & Girls Club during the 5K and celebrate after with a street festival.
Revista Latina Día De Los Muertos | Sunday, Oct. 26 | 12-4 p.m. | City Plaza | Free | Honor + celebrate loved ones who have died and pass on special traditions with ofrendas, folklore, Aztec dance, Mexican crafts, and food trucks.
Día de Oakwood | Saturday, Nov. 1 + Sunday, Nov. 2 | Times vary | Oakwood Cemetery | Free | On Saturday, enjoy a free screening of “Coco” alongside food trucks and ofrendas. On Sunday, expect a Catarina parade + live performances.
9th Annual Día De Los Muertos | Friday, Nov. 7 | 6:30-9 p.m. | City of Raleigh Museum | Free | This kids-focused celebration will feature a student-made Catrina’s altar and more kid-friendly activities.

Levant Bistro, which closed its Lafayette Village restaurant + bakery in 2020, is coming back near Vinnie’s Steak House in North Raleigh. Anita Khalek has received weekly emails from Levant fans, and the new location will continue to serve up gluten- and soy-free breakfast, lunch, and dinner. (Triangle Business Journal)

The Canes aren’t playing tomorrow night, but the Whalers are. The Hurricanes will be sporting their throwback Hartford Whalers jerseys during tomorrow’s game against the Quebec Nordiques, AKA the Colorado Avalanche. Although tomorro’s game is on the road, both teams will be wearing throwback jerseys again when they meet in Raleigh on Jan. 3.

Humor writer David Sedaris is coming home to Raleigh with “An Evening with David Sedaris” at the Martin Marietta Center on April 18, 2026, and tickets are on sale now.
The event will include a Q+A and book signing with copies of his upcoming book, “A Carnival of Snackery and Pretty Ugly,” available courtesy of Quail Ridge Books.
Sedaris is known for his sardonic wit on NPR and wide collection of personal essays, and his work is even better on stage. Grab a copy of Sedaris classics with Raleigh stories like “Me Talk Pretty One Day” from a local independent bookstore.
