The Canes will host their annual community benefit game on Sept. 24 in a preseason matchup against the Florida Panthers. Tickets will go on sale tomorrow for $10 — $100 for glass seats and $50 for second through fifth rows — and funds will be distributed through the Carolina Hurricanes Foundation.

Durham’s oldest Black-owned business, The Chicken Hut, is the recipient of a $50,000 grant from the National Trust for Historic Preservation and American Express. As one of 50 recipients in 2025, the 1957-established restaurant is pushing for historic landmark status. (The News & Observer)
