Local gift shop and bar The Green Monkey will close the doors to its Wilmington Street brick-and-mortar storefront on Saturday, March 15.
Owners Rusty Sutton and Drew Temple expressed in a statement on the store’s website, “While our physical shop is closing, we’re here and working on moving our operations online.”
Additionally, though the physical location will close, its community involvement won’t end. Weekly events including Wednesday trivia and Hell Yeah I Have Bingo on Saturdays will continue + relocate to Libations 317 beginning in April.
What about the shopping? Patrons can find the local retailer at festivals, pop-ups, and online. Plus, all loyalty rewards will shift to the online platform.
I tried Umami Japanese Steakhouse in Brier Creek this weekend and it exceeded my expectations. I ordered the Monster roll as an appetizer with crab + avocado and the shrimp and steak hibachi for my entree. I tried to take a photo, but after the first bite it was all a blur — sorry friends. Just know, it was delicious and worth the visit.
