It’s official. Hopscotch Music Fest has landed in downtown Raleigh. Tickets are still on sale starting at $159. If you plan on attending, make sure you have an appropriate bag and download the fest’s official app to stay on top of set times + FAQs.

Ebisu Life Store is opening its first NC location in Raleigh. Located on Hillsborough Street, this Japanese import shop will offer a selection of home decor, snacks, toys, and more. Look out for the unique shopping experience in January 2025. (The News & Observer)

Redstart Foods, known for its meal delivery service, opened its first restaurant in Durham. The spot offers pastries, coffee, salads, and sandwiches daily, with dinner on the weekends. The new venue also features a retail shop with gourmet goods and a unique design. (The News & Observer)
Drink
Fullsteam Brewery, a popular spot in the Triangle’s beer scene, will relocate its flagship taproom to the historic American Tobacco Campus next year. The new 9,000 sqft space will include a restaurant and taproom. Fullsteam will close its current Rigsbee Avenue location on Oct. 31 but will continue brewing there until 2025. (The News & Observer)
Development
Development of the 80 acres around PNC Arena is progressing. Pacific Elm Properties plans a major overhaul, including retail, a hotel, apartments, and office space. A neighborhood meeting on rezoning will be held on Wednesday, Sept. 11. Construction is set to begin in winter 2025, with phase one expected to finish by 2030. (Triangle Business Journal)
Biz
Raleigh’s bid for a MLB team could drive major investment, but the stadium location is undecided. Potential sites include the Blue Ridge Corridor near PNC Arena and downtown. Challenges include land ownership issues and the need for state and local partnerships with no formal offer yet in place. (Axios Raleigh)

Raleigh’s long-awaited Gipson Play Plaza at Dorothea Dix Park will open in 2025, but two large Duke Energy power poles stand as a visual challenge. Sculptor Thomas Sayre will transform them into giant sunflowers, blending utility with art to complement the park’s future landscape. (INDY Week)
