Today is the last day of Drink Up Week, so City Editors Allie + Danyale are sharing their favorites and the deals, because in Raleigh a good bev is always near. Here are our favorites:
City Editor Danyale
Whiskey Kitchen, 201 W. Martin St. | My favorite cocktail of Drink Up Week has been the seasonal Patio Pimm’pin bev. It features strawberry basil syrup, white balsamic, ginger, Conniption gin, Pimm’s + soda — it’s a great refresher for after work. It’s $10 through tonight.
Idle Hour Coffee Roasters, 1818 Oberlin Rd. | Matcha in the morning, or really any time of the day, always hits the spot for me. Today’s the last day to try it out for a dollar off.
Juicekeys, 5011 Falls of Neuse Rd. | When I’m in need of something delicious and light, I stop by and grab a Dreamsicle smoothie that features orange juice, mango, banana, coconut ice, cashew butter, honey, and vegan protein. Grab yours today for 15% off.
City Editor Allie
Wolfe & Porter, 905 W. Morgan St. | This new spot is always hopping, which makes the Hoptini a perfect refreshment. Stop by to grab your own + hang out on the patio or the Cellar.
The Willard, 9 Glenwood Ave. | Stunning skyline views? Check. A beautiful outdoor space? Check. Great bevs? You know it. Try the Train Car cocktail made with Mystic bourbon, d’usse cognac, coconut cream liqueur, heavy cream, and pecan and coffee bean orgeat. This cocktail and its maker, Conley Marie, are competing in the 2024 NCRLA Chef Showdown. Try it for $16.
Tap Yard Raleigh, 1610 Automotive Wy. | We’re feeling honored to have our name on this spot’s blackberry martini to cool off from these hot NC nights in the one acre beer garden. Get your own at half price.

Get ready for impact — on wheels. The Raleigh-based nonprofit cafe A Place at the Table is launching its first food truck to expand its mission of providing community and good food to all regardless of financial means through the pay-what-you-can model.
For the past six years, the nonprofit has served the downtown Raleigh community, and with the launch of The Travelin’ Table, the cafe’s reach can expand. The menu will feature similar items of the flagship including huevos rancheros, quiche, and biscuits.
The truck will partner with additional nonprofit organizations such as The Boys & Girls Club of Zebulon and The Women’s Center to further support their communities.
A foldable lap desk — it’s great for those who work from home, college students heading back to school, or anyone looking to read, write, or stream while they sip coffee in bed (read: us).
With the closing of Mama Dip’s Kitchen in Chapel Hill, it’s skyrocketed to the top of my must-try list because it might just be now or never. If you’ve ever been, what suggestions do you have for me to try? Let me know.
