New music venue Cannonball Music Hall to jazz up Salvage Yard

Mixed-use development Salvage Yard will add a live music venue to its already stacked lineup. Cannonball Music Hall will join the development led by Grubb Ventures in late 2024.
In addition to its performance space and a diverse selection of local bevs, the music hall will feature month-to-month rentable practice spaces for up-and-coming bands in the area, according to a press release. Cannonball will showcase a variety of genres, including pop, blues, rock, metal, and plenty more.
“We envision Salvage Yard and the entire Raleigh Iron Works District as the Raleigh area’s foremost entertainment destination, and this addition further enriches our dynamic community,” said McKenzie Wilson, Director of Leasing at Grubb Ventures, in a press release. “We’re excited to provide a platform for local musicians, fostering a thriving music scene that aligns with our evolving project.”
Salvage Yard is located along Atlantic Avenue andLaurelbrook Street and neighbors the growing Raleigh Iron Works development.
Cannonball Music Hall is the fourth tenant confirmed for Salvage Yard. Raleigh Iron Works’ Jaguar Bolera’s pickleball space, Triangle Rock Club, and Bond Brothers’ NOCO taproom will join the district.

Everything you need to know about the Raleigh Christmas Parade

The 2023 Raleigh Christmas Parade presented by ABC 11, Shop Local Raleigh + the Greater Raleigh Merchants Association is this Saturday, Nov. 18 kicking off at 9:30 a.m. This parade is the largest between Atlanta and Washington, D.C.
This year’s celebration will feature Grand Marshal Cam Ward of the Carolina Hurricanes. Ward played for the Canes from 2005 to 2018 in over 600 games as a goaltender.
Over 100 groups will be part of the parade, including massive balloons, community groups, bands, and more, which will all be on foot per new City of Raleigh parade measures.
The parade will march down Hillsborough, Morgan, and Fayetteville streets and will block traffic on many of their intersections. View a full map of the 1.4 mile route before planning any downtown festivities before 2 p.m. on Saturday.
Parade-goers can park in any downtown lot for free on the day of the parade, also outlined in the parade map.
