Work out for a cause: Break the Cycle bike ride event is this weekend

Ready, set, ride… for a cause. The Women’s Center of Wake County is hosting its third annual Break the Cycle bike ride event this Sunday, Sept. 17 to benefit women experiencing homelessness in our community.

Choose from a five-mile or 30-mile ride on scenic routes through Raleigh. After the ride, enjoy local food truck fare + a complimentary beverage (you’ve earned it) plus music at the after party in John Chavis Memorial Park.

Your participation will help make a difference in the lives of women who are struggling with poverty, mental illness, violence, sexual assault, and/or human trafficking.

  • Starting June 6, 2024, a nonstop flight by the airline Lufthansa will land at Raleigh-Durham International Airport to offer flights between RDU and Frankfurt in western Germany. The flight will run five times a week with connections to flights to other European destinations. If you can’t wait to get to Germany, fly over to our local Oktoberfest coverage.

Kane Realty Corporation announced three tenants that are coming soon to the growing Smoky Hollow district. Here is what to expect:
  • Alaksha’s Indian Bistro | Alaksha Surti, the owner and executive chef of the popular food truck and Morgan Street Food Hall restaurant Curry in a Hurry, is expanding her Indian food to a full service space. “When guests walk through my doors at Alaksha’s Indian Bistro, I want them to have a culinary experience with all their senses,” Surti said in a press release.
  • Morelia Gourmet Paletas | Cool off with this gourmet handcrafted popsicle and ice cream bar brand. From Miami, FL, this sweet spot will offer flavors like pineapple mint sorbet and dulce de leche made with natural ingredients.
  • Noire the Nail Bar, previously announced | Get a luxurious mani pedi when this salon opens its doors to its second Raleigh location. This nail bar features natural + organic services in a relaxing atmosphere.
Construction and opening dates have not yet been announced, but stay tuned.
