🏡 That’s one hot market

Raleigh ranks No. 1 among hottest housing markets

The City of Oaks is on fire. No need to dial 9-1-1 — we mean the housing market. Raleigh recently ranked No. 1 on U.S. News & World Report’s list of hottest housing markets in the US. Also on the list were Denver (No. 2), Phoenix (No. 4), Charlotte (No. 6), and Las Vegas (No. 12).

“What defines hot,” you ask? U.S. News & World Report describes a hot market as one “returning to the basics of healthy demand, supply and financing options.”

To determine which cities are hot (and which are not), U.S. News based its rankings on a scoring scale of 1-100 that examined metrics of housing supply, demand, and finance indicators.

Yesterday we asked “How long have you been a Caniac?” and here’s what you said:

The Canes' mascot, Stormy, waving a flag on the ice.

Raleighites (and Stormy) are ready to cheer on the Canes in the next round.

More than 45% of our readers have been a fan since the Canes relocated to Raleigh in 1997. And 25% of you have become a Caniac more recently, over the last few years.

From the editor
I had so much fun at Artsplosure last year. My favorite part was chatting with the artists and hearing them gush about their craft. I can’t wait to meet more talented artists at this year’s festival and watch one of my favorite performers, Rayland Baxter, captivate the audience.
