On Tuesday, City Council voted to extend the public hearing about whether to rezone Shaw University’s historic downtown campus. University leaders are looking to rezone ~26 acres to build taller, denser buildings. The hearing will continue on Tuesday, May 2 to allow for more public comments. (The News & Observer)

The City of Raleigh will begin its annual street resurfacing program this spring. Work includes resurfacing 11 centerline miles of 56 street sections by this fall. Streets directly affected will havesigns posted before the work begins.
Development
The Ramada by Wyndham along the Blue Ridge Corridor will be demolished to make way for a luxury apartment complex aimed toward graduate students and professionals. The $100 million Aura Blue Ridge project will have 370 units and a parking deck with 550 spaces. Expected completion is March 2025. (Triangle Business Journal)

Trophy Brewing is celebrating 10 years on Sunday, April 23 from 12-5 p.m. Head to the brewery’s Morgan Street location for live music from Thick as Thieves, throwback specialty pizzas, and exclusive beer releases.

Regulatory consulting firm ProPharma is relocating its global center from Overland Park, Kansas to downtown Raleigh. The life sciences company’s new headquarters is expected to bring up to 100 new jobs to the Triangle in the next two years. (The News & Observer)
