Hey, Raleigh — City Editor Allie here. The 2026 Olympic Games have got me itching for a slice of Italy without the airfare cost. With the help of some local businesses, you can make the City of Oaks feel like the Il Bel Paese for just one day, no Duolingo needed.

Morning

A bitten croissant covered in seasonings and seeds sits on a table next to a light brown latte topped with foam in the shape of a leaf. A laptop computer sits to the right of the food and coffee.

An everything croissant + latte from Boulted Bread is true bliss.

Grab an espresso + croissant from a local bakery. We’re partial to Boulted Bread, Lucettegrace, or La Farm for that European bakery feel.

Afternoon

Raleigh’s experiencing its own Italian renaissance, which means there’s plenty of new pasta places to try for lunch. We recommend Leo’s Italian Social in North Hills, Figulina in the Warehouse District, or Veloce Italian Market in City Plaza.

Once your belly is full, stroll through the NC Museum of Art’s collection of Italian art, including a piece by landmark artist Titian.

One word to describe Capulet Cocktail Club: Opulent.

Let’s go back to the classics. Indulge in an Italian dinner at a Raleigh staple like Mulino, Cucciolo Terrazza, Amedeo’s, or Caffe Luna. If you’d rather learn how to make your own, book an Italian-inspired cooking class at Wynton’s World.

Wine down with a sweet treat from Amorino Gelato, or check out Raleigh’s new luxurious Italian-inspired cocktail bar, Capulet.
