View the Voices of Oberlin displayed on Oberlin Regional Library’s exterior

If you’ve passed by Oberlin Regional Library in the Village District lately, you may have noticed large portraits displayed on its exterior windows. These 15 faces are part of the Voices of Oberlin exhibition currently on display at Block Gallery at 222 W. Hargett St.

The Block Gallery exhibit, curated by Michael S. Williams, highlights Oberlin community members’ memories through images and oral histories .

Both displays recognize the historically Black community’s rich history dating back to the 1860s and its citizens who made significant contributions to both NC and the US.

The portraits will be on display at the library now through Oct. 6 and at the Block Gallery until Sept. 22.
