State of Beer is moving closer to Trophy Brewing’s home base on West Morgan Street, according to The News & Observer .
In 2022, one of Trophy’s four owners, David Meeker, purchased three houses nearly 400 ft from Trophy and called the project The Bend. With plans to preserve the existing houses, the project will include the new State of Beer, The Bend Bar, and an unknown third concept.
The Bend Bar will be a casual hangout featuring cocktails, and State of Beer will continue to focus on brews while expanding food choices. The two spots will have a combined patio with a 2024 projected opening.
The Hillsborough Street location has not announced a closing date, and the new location may be open for up to two years before the original bottle shop shuts its doors.
Plans for a third building concept have not yet been released, but we can’t wait to find out what’s next for this area, which recently welcomed new bar concept Gussie’s .
