A section of Hillsborough Street that has been closed since March is set to reopen in time for NC State’s home opener against Notre Dame on Saturday, Sept. 9.

According to NCDOT, this section of road that intersects with Blue Ridge Road will be regularly open, including when the NC State Fair kicks off in October. The current traffic pattern is not the finalized version and will change periodically or shut down completely before construction is finalized.

The final project will have Blue Ridge Road going underneath Hillsborough Street, Beryl Road, and a set of train tracks. NCDOT says it anticipates construction to be finished in late 2024.

While you’re rolling through this new road, be aware that this is still an active work zone with construction workers, so drive with caution.
