Raleigh is home to a vibrant art scene that offers a unique blend of beauty and community. Scattered throughout the city are art galleries that serve not only as showcases for stunning works, but also as gathering spots where social connections are formed and nurtured. These six galleries possess both visual experiences and social destinations.

311 Gallery | Visit this gallery and view the current exhibit “Dreamland” by Adam Cooley. Exhibitions displayed at this gallery are on display for a minimum of a month.

Artspace | This gallery is filled with bright and colorful works, but what stands out most are the events and workshops offered. From makers gatherings to summer art camps, everyone can find a little something.

CAM Raleigh | There’s always something up this gallery’s sleeve. The events are plentiful, ranging from intimate evenings like dinners with artists on display, cocktails and candles, and a Sunday market filled with local vendors.

City Market Artist Collective | Created and founded by artist and sculptor Paris Alexander, this space is filled with paintings, sculpture, and mixed media works. There are eight spaces including a dedicated sculpture gallery.

Gallery C | This gallery was founded in 1985, housing a variety of artworks ranging from contemporary, historically important NC art, Haitian art, folk art, animation art, and antique prints. Visit for a view of the current exhibition “American Self-Taught: Paintings and Carvings by Outsider Artists.”

NC Museum of Art | Since 1924, this artistic space has been providing crafty experiences. Currently on display are “From Alpha to Creation: Religion in the Deep South” through this Sunday, Aug. 18 and “Park Billboards: Steven Paul Judd.”
