This competition takes pampering your pooch to the next level.

All summer, 18 teams made up of local architects, engineers, and designers from around the Triangle have been working on custom pet architecture builds to showcase during the third Triangle Barkitecture competition. All proceeds from this unique fundraising event led by the American Institute of Architects will go to local foster and pet rescue organizations.

On Sat., Oct. 8, the public + their pets are invited to view and try out the innovative designs for free at Boxyard RTP from 12-4 p.m. All of the creations will be auctioned off, with 100% of the proceeds going to local pets in need at Freedom Ride Rescue + Paw Prints Animal Rescue. There will also be prize drawings, opportunities for fall pet pictures + a pet costume competition.

There are six competition categories, including Best in Show, People’s Choice (don’t forget to vote for your favorite build) + Craziest Cat, awarded to the most unique design that challenges the idea of what pet architecture is. Check out the other awards.

We can’t wait to see the paw-some winners.
