Over 20 teams made up of local architects, engineers, and designers from around the Triangle have been working on custom pet architecture builds to showcase during this year’s Triangle Barkitecture competition. All proceeds from this unique fundraising event led by the American Institute of Architects will benefit local animal rescue centers.

This Saturday, Sept. 30, the public and their pets are invited to view and try out the innovative designs for free at Fenton from 1 to 5 p.m. All of the creations will be auctioned off with 100% of the proceeds going to local pets in need at Triangle Beagle Rescue and Friends of Wake County Animal Center.

You’ll also get the chance to meet adoptable + adorable pets, enjoy a show by Dare Devil Dogs, and there will be pup caricature drawings available.

There are six competition categories, including Best in Show, People’s Choice (don’t forget to vote for your favorite build) + Craziest Cat, awarded to the most unique design that challenges the idea of what pet architecture can be.
