Hey Raleigh, Carly + Laura here. Between the 2 of us, we get the privilege of sharing the news with ~50,000 readers in Raleigh, daily — both through our newsletter + social feeds.

We’ve got some new faces at RALtoday, so you can consider this our official meet-cute (no cinematic, albeit awkward, coffee spill bump-ins required).😌

Meet Carly 👋

Q: You’re taking someone on a date in Raleigh. Where are you going?

A: Definitely Vita Vite at 313 W Hargett St. They also have a location in North Hills.

Q: What were the last 3 things you did downtown?

A: Last weekend, I checked out Moore Square Market, ate lunch at Morgan Street Food Hall + browsed the Triangle Pop Up shop.

Q: If Raleigh had one-specific dish, what would it be?

A: I could eat the Southern Mac from Relish Craft Kitchen & Bourbon Bar for the rest of my life + never get tired of it.

Meet Laura 👋

Q: Hit us with your favorite piece of local trivia:

A: Raleigh Beer Garden holds the Guinness Book of World Records title of “most different varieties of beer on tap,” with ~369 different varieties when they received the title in 2015.

Q: If you could only write about one RAL-specific topic for the rest of your life, what would it be?

A: Tech. Startups. When I was covering business at the News & Observer I dipped my toe into the scene by doing a project on women in tech in the Triangle + then I worked at GrepBeat for ~2 years. You can take the girl out of the startup world, but you can’t take the startup world out of the girl.

Q: Describe Raleigh’s personality in three words.

A: Ambitious, intellectual (looking at you, RTP), versatile
