In 2023, Disney announced plans for a 4,000-unit residential community in Pittsboro called Asteria, part of the company’s Storyliving concept. Now, the team behind Asteria has announced the Second Star Club, the social hub of the community. Homes will go on sale as early as 2027, and residents will move in in fall 2028.

Inspired by “Peter Pan” and NC’s Piedmont region, Second Star Club will include a family-friendly pool, an adults-only pool, pickleball courts, a playground, and hands-on creative studios for residents. Plus, a special five-bedroom residence called Lost Key Cottage will be available for residents and family guests.

Phew, it’s hot. Pleasant weather will be back in the forecast as early as Monday, but NC’s statewide drought is expected to continue, even with some isolated showers expected Sunday. (WRAL)

Post of the Day

RAL_ChristinaKochMural_POD_APRIL2026
A stunning mural on NC State’s Centennial Campus has a surprise — a depiction of astronaut + Wolfpack alum Christina Koch in the bottom right corner. Painted by artist John Pugh, this mural depicts the birth of AI with a two-dimensional sculpture of Artemis. How fitting.
