Today marks the beginning of MLB season, and while Raleigh hasn’t been called up to the majors just yet, we’re still duking it out for an MLB team in the 919. Read our best pitch for an MLB team in Raleigh — and check out why Charlotte and Nashville think they deserve one, too.

With buzz forming thanks to grassroots fan movement MLB Raleigh, Oak City is looking like a clear contender right off the bat, and Raleigh is no stranger to America’s favorite pastime.

According to MLB Raleigh, the Triangle metro area population is in the same ballpark as other cities with MLB teams, like Pittsburgh and Cincinnati. Plus, NC is the most populous state in the US without an MLB team. And no offense CLTtoday, but the Queen City already has three top-level pro teams. Time for Raleigh to step up to the plate.

Jubala Coffee will open its fifth cafe in the Main District of North Hills between Alo Yoga and jewelry store Gorjana, and it’ll make the Main District fully leased. Plus, it joins the Park District location for its second in North Hills.

“North Hills has been an incredible community for Jubala,” said founder Andrew Cash in a press release. “The support we’ve received has been amazing, and we’re excited to create another space where people can gather over great coffee. Being in the Main District puts us right in the middle of so much energy, and we’re thrilled to be part of it.”

Jubala was the winner of our 2024 coffee shop bracketand for good reason. We can’t get enough of their seasonal drinks, drop biscuit sandwiches, waffles, and chic cafes.
