🥇 Meet our medalists

The 2026 Winter Olympics have come to a close, but Raleigh’s got plenty of reasons to celebrate. USA’s Jaccob Slavin, Canada’s Seth Jarvis, and Finland’s Sebastian Aho are all coming home to the 919 with medals.

🥇 Jaccob Slavin | The Canes defensemen was a standout during the Four Nations Face-Off, and his hustle on the ice in Milan got him gold. Team USA killed 18 of 18 penalties during the Olympics, and we’re giving Slavin credit.

🥈 Seth Jarvis | Jarvis + Team Canada came in second to USA, but that doesn’t mean they didn’t work hard for their silver. Jarvis even earned his first Olympic point with a game-tying assist against Czechia, and his best friends from Winnipeg were a viral hit.

🥉 Sebastian Aho | Although he wasn’t part of the thrilling gold medal match, Aho and Team Finland still ended their Olympic stint with a 6-1 win over Slovakia to take bronze. Aho even scored the first goal against Slovakia to get the game started.

No, our Durham Distillery isn’t closing, but a mix-up with a Canadian distillery of the same name caused some confusion. Some news articles about the Ontario distillery’s closing used Durham Distillery photos, but don’t worry — your Conniption gin isn’t going anywhere. (WRAL)
