Civic

Twelve Wake County projects are up for a portion of $23.5 million in tourism funds, from a ballet space to an NC Museum of Natural Sciences renovation. Wake County leaders and Raleigh City Council will vote on the funds next week. (The News & Observer)

Raleigh Wide Open, the 919’s bluegrass + Americana festival, announced it will return to downtown Raleigh Oct. 1 through Oct. 3 with plenty of banjo-plucking fun.

Transit

NCDOT is looking into connecting Raleigh + Asheville via train, and the new connection could generate 5,300 jobs and $1 billion in state and local tax revenue. However, the project could cost up to $800 million and take up to 12 years once approved. (Triangle Business Journal)
