A message from our team

We receive hundreds of thank-you emails every week, and often you ask how you can support us. If you’ve gotten something out of being subscribed to RALtoday, like finding that life-changing concert in our Events section or using our City Guides to plan the perfect way to spend the day with family, we couldn’t be more honored to be a part of your life — and we’re calling on you now to help support our mission with a donation.

🍗 Winner winner, chicken dinner

RAL_RaisingCane'sPOD_NOV2025
Post via @raleighdowntown
Hillsborough Street is about to get a lot tastier. According to Raleigh Downtown, Raising Cane’s is set to open the second week of January in the former Varsity Theater next to Mitch’s Tavern — with the marquee and all.

Cane’s keeps the menu simple with chicken tenders, fries, coleslaw, Texas toast, sandwiches, and their secret recipe Cane’s Sauce. Just can’t wait to get a taste? Head to the Chapel Hill location on Franklin Street for your chicken fix.

It’s simple: Find a participating retailer near you, drop off your well-loved denim (for free), and become a part of this green initiative.

How will your jeans be recycled? Blue Jeans Go Green™ will transform them into insulation for houses, pet beds, food packaging, and more.

You’re gonna need a bigger dinner table. When it comes to holiday dinners, only the upper crust of desserts will do. As you plan your final course, consult this com-pie-lation of local shops baking seasonal sweets.

Angus Barn, 9401 Glenwood Ave. | Most people come here for the steaks, but we can’t wait for dessert. Head to the Pavilion Country Store on special holiday shopping days for the steakhouse’s famed chocolate chess pies and pecan pies ready for your holiday table.
