Buckle up, we’re taking you on a virtual road trip to see fall foliage across some of the National Park Service’s parks. While we’re dreaming of the scenic views of Lassen Peak in Northern California, we can’t wait to see the leaves change along Blue Ridge Parkway.

Cause

Host and comedian Nate Bargatze donated $250,000 to the Boys and Girls Club of America during the 2025 Emmys, using length of acceptance speeches to determine the amount donated. Luckily for us, there’s no time limit on giving back to Raleigh’s local chapter. (USA Today)

Weather

La Niña may be on the horizon. The National Weather Service’s Climate Prediction Center forecasts a 71% chance of the weather system from October to December. In Raleigh, this climate cycle usually brings warmer weather while in effect. (USA Today)

Calling all Studio Ghibli fans. The historic animation house is currently celebrating 40 years of timeless storytelling with Studio Ghibli Fest, featuring movie theater screenings of its most famous films. “Howl’s Moving Castle” is playing through Wednesday, Sept. 24, and “Spirited Away” is screening next month. Post of the Day

Since May, 30 local crochet artists have gathered to create 582 mandalas — creating Mandala Sky, a canopy of color.

Installed in Smoky Hollow, you can visit this piece while walking in the plaza. There’s even mandalas hanging up in shop windows throughout Glenwood South. Looking for your next selfie spot? We’d love to see your pictures — share your photos with us to be featured.

Bonus: Get a closer look at each mandala.
