An infamously smelly flower is readying to bloom at Juniper Level Botanic Garden in Cary. The very rare corpse flower, named Titan, will open soon and weighs in at 41 pounds. You can visit it at the garden during the week — and experts predict it’ll pop open on Saturday, Aug. 2. (ABC 11)

Because of high heat indexes, the City of Raleigh has issued a collection delay alert for trash, recycling, and yard waste. Keep your bins on the curb until they’re collected — the city will not issue warnings or fines during collection delays.
