This week, the largest animal to ever exist is coming to the NC Museum of Natural Sciences. The Blue Whales special exhibition opens this Saturday, June 21, and you’ll get to learn the ins and outs of these gentle giants.
City Editor Allie here — marine life has always fascinated me, and seeing a blue whale is on my bucket list. While I don’t think any live blue whales are making it here to Raleigh, this feels like the next best thing.
When you buy your tickets, add on a 3D movie ticket for just $3. Plus, museum members get unlimited free admission to the exhibit.

Hey Raleigh. I hope you had a great weekend — when the weather gets this unpredictable, I escape to the movies for two hours of air conditioning, popcorn, and an indie flick. Here in Raleigh, I love a day at The Rialto, but if you’re willing to make a trek, the Chelsea Theater in Chapel Hill is awesome.
Artists like Tori Amos, Melissa Etheridge, and Devo have all performed at the venue.
