🏀 Duke downed
Star Cooper Flagg has led the Blue Devils through the NCAA Championship and is projected to go first in the NBA Draft. | Photos via Duke Athletics
The Blue Devils lost to No. 1 seed Houston on Saturday night in San Antonio, marking the end of Duke’s season and likely freshman Cooper Flagg’s college career.
Duke was previously favored to cut down the nets, but Houston mounted a miraculous comeback. In the last minute of Saturday’s game, the Cougars pulled ahead on a 9-0 run to secure a spot in the championship game against Florida.
After being crowned Naismith College Player of the Year, Flagg is projected to go first in the NBA Draft this summer and should declare for the draft soon. Flagg averaged 19.2 points per game this season and was the highest rated recruit in the 2024 class.
The Buy
The Buy
If you’re eager to give your friends or loved ones a fun, spring-themed gift, why not make them a seasonal basket of goodies? Here’s some inspiration to get you started:
🧺 Start with a sturdy woven basket that they can reuse as a versatile storage solution.
🍊 Add this refreshing room diffuser with notes of green tea, cotton, and orange peel.
🌱 Include “The Complete Gardener’s Guide” so they can learn everything they need to create their perfect garden.
🌷 Throw in this Amazon exclusive set of floral Happy Socks.
🍬 Complete the basket with the best-selling Owala FreeSip in the fun Candy Store colorway.
By now, you probably know where my local basketball allegiances lie, but I have to say, I was liking this Duke crew.
One more local March Madness tidbit: UConn women’s basketball star freshman + Freshman of the Year Sarah Strong is from Durham, was North Carolina Miss Basketball twice, went to Fuquay-Varina High School for a year, and her dad was an NC State basketball player.
