Oak City, meet Twinleaf Townes: A brand-new Chapel Hill townhome community created by Tri Pointe Homes® in collaboration with interior design expert and Emmy-winning TV host Bobby Berk.
Sitting just 10 minutes from downtown Durham and Chapel Hill, this not-too-big, not-too-small neighborhood features 102 three-story townhomes with 3-4 stylish bedrooms, spacious 2-bay garages, and LivingSmart® (aka Green) features throughout.
Plus, there’s plenty of room to gather and unwind with two outdoor community spaces built right in.
The upcoming Rain or Shine Release event will allow visitors to tour the new neighborhood, ask questions, and experience the elevated, Berk-selected designs firsthand (we hear there is such a thing as a free lunch with a taco food truck onsite for those who attend).
🌟 Meet Bobby
Bonus: Homebuyers who purchase their dream home in Twinleaf Townes before May 1, 2025 will have an opportunity to meet Bobby Berk in person at an exclusive June event.
A new speakeasy is coming to North Raleigh courtesy of a local hospitality group. The folks behind the Hibernian, Aunty Betty’s Gin Bar, and Watts and Ward will welcome The Dry Cleaners, a moody bar in — you guessed it — a former dry cleaning business. The Dry Cleaners will open this spring. (Raleigh Magazine)
Community
The City of Raleigh will conduct its annual chlorine water disinfection starting tomorrow, Feb. 27 through April 10. Raleigh Water may have a different smell or taste but is still just as safe to consume. The system will also be flushed, which could cause temporary discoloration.
Try This
A Wilmington-based pretzel shop is coming to Raleigh and will open on National Pretzel Day, April 26. Crofton’s Pretzels is a beach fave and will open at 1400 S. Saunders St. next to Riparian Provision Company and the NC State Farmers Market. Expect Philadelphia-style pretzels stuffed with cheese, brownies, and more. (Triangle Business Journal)
Opening
And one more thing — Raleigh’s West End is gaining a new nail studio. Mood Raleigh is a chic nail spot and will open at Platform Apartments this summer. Owner Jennifer Pham said Mood is more than just a nail salon — it’s about creating an experience.
Sports
We know the NC State women’s basketball team is ready to go to the ACC tournament, but what about the men? The Pack is sitting at No. 17 of 18 in the ACC, and tonight’s game against Syracuse and this weekend’s against Georgia Tech are must-win for tournament consideration. (The News & Observer)
Older Adults
Laurel Hills Community Center is launching a new social club for those 50 and older — and you can help shape it. The Golden Years Club will feature games, speakers, meals, and trips, and club officer positions are available. The club’s first meeting is on Tuesday, March 4 at the community center.
Plan Ahead
Join Sola for its annual Mother’s Day Market on Saturday, May 10 with 40 local vendors in honor of the moms in our lives. Sip Sola brews and munch on mini donuts while meeting local vendors and buying a last-minute gift.
Watch
Additional Canes games this season will be broadcast on WRAL. The March 6 game against Boston and the April 2 game versus Washington will be simulcast from FanDuel Sports Network on WRAL. Psst... the Washington Capitals are the best in the division — don’t miss them.

📣 Calling all small business owners
Support the local economy during DTR Retail Week — like at Edge of Urge. | Photo by RALtoday
Here at RALtoday, you may already know we’re big on celebrating local, especially our city’s small businesses, which is why a week dedicated to highlighting the heart of our communities is right up our alley.
Enter: Small Business Week — a national initiative acknowledging and celebrating the contributions of small businesses — that we’ll be celebrating Sunday, May 4 to Saturday, May 10.
We want to join in on the celebrations by highlighting some of the best small businesses in our city, and offer a little something special for our readers, too.
This is where we need your help.
If you own a local small business or know someone who does, celebrate Small Business Week with us by filling out a form about your business. We’ll be selecting businesses to feature in our newsletter throughout the week.
Bonus: As an optional choice, you can offer a fun deal or discount, a limited-edition menu item, or host a special event during the week for our readers to enjoy.
Complete the form by Sunday, March 16 and we’ll include it in our interactive map and coverage for Small Business Week powered by Sponsor. Psst: There’s no charge to participate.
