Whataburger is moving forward with plans to expand in Raleigh, targeting sites on Six Forks and Falls of Neuse roads. The Applebee’s on Six Forks and PDQ on Falls of Neuse will be demolished to make way for the eateries, complete with drive-thrus. (Triangle Business Journal)

On Saturday, Oct. 26, Luke Combs, Eric Church, Billy Strings, and James Taylor will headline “Concert for Carolina” at Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte, raising funds for communities affected by Hurricane Helene. Hosted by ESPN’s Marty Smith and Barstool’s Caleb Pressley, tickets go on sale this Thursday, Oct.10.

Benchwarmers Bagels is expanding with a new 4,000 sqft location at Rockway in Raleigh, a mixed-use development from Kane Realty set to open in 2025. This marks the restaurant’s first independent space, featuring an expanded menu of bagels, sandwiches, and wood-fired pizzas.
Community
A grassroots movement is pushing for a new flag to represent Raleigh that intends to combine civic pride and history. The proposed design features Sir Walter Raleigh’s coat of arms within an acorn, symbolizing the City of Oaks. The New Raleigh Flag Campaign will present the proposal to Raleigh City Council today, aiming for official recognition.

Sodabox is launching at the Lenovo Center, serving up its dirty sodas, seltzers + other treats during Canes games, NC State men’s basketball games, and more events. Opening this Friday, Oct. 11, fans can enjoy unique flavors in the East and West Priority Lounges.

Brier Creek may see a major expansion, with plans for the Durham Gateway at Brier Creek, featuring up to 1,750 residential units, commercial space, and industrial facilities.
