New food in RTP’s downtown district | Chef Preeti Waas will open the second location of her innovative Indian restaurant at Horseshoe at Hub RTP. Cheeni plans to open in 2025 with construction starting later this year.

Raleigh City Council has made a move toward keeping Red Hat Amphitheater downtown. The council approved a resolution intending to close the disputed block of South Street. Next, the council will hold a required hearing Tuesday, Sept. 17 before it can officially close the block.

Chef Scott Crawford’s Crawford Brothers Steakhouse will open this fall at Fenton in Cary and promises a steakhouse experience with flair. Featuring a “glass curtain,” a custom cooking suite, and a vibrant cocktail bar, the 4,500 sqft venue will combine classic charm with modern luxury.

Local record shop + beer joint Hunky Dory will relocate from Seaboard Station to Raleigh Iron Works later this year, joining a plethora of local businesses. The store will be located near Beatniks and Urban Pothos and will boast a carefully curated vinyl and brew selection.
